I can confidently guess quite a few... but a couple I've no idea.

B Plenty of Fun
C Get Into Trouble
D Adventuring Again
E Fix
H Demon's Rocks (Though a lighthouse appears in another cover so I'm not sure)
I Adventuring Again
L Run Away Together
M Kirrin Island Again
N Secret Trail
P Mystery Moor
S Mystery to Solve

I've no idea on O, Q & R as they are quite generic pictures.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

db105 wrote:Yes, I also love how beautifully drawn the old Spanish covers are. Of course, since I have an emotional attachment to them because they were the ones I read as a boy, I can't be objective. I guess this more realistic style is regarded as old-fashioned now. George's haircut in those covers is certainly old-fashioned, and too girlish for George. Anyway, we used to have some great cover illustrations in children's books.

This is a Spanish cover from one of the Happy Hollisters books, a series for younger readers than the Famous Five. These were the first books I loved when I started reading real books:

I must say, in this image it looks as though they are trying to hang the boy on the well.

Yes, of course!

I've no idea on O, Q & R as they are quite generic pictures.
B, D, E, L, N, P, S: yes!
C, H, I, M: nope!

So we have:
A - Five go to Billycock Hill
B - Five have plenty of fun
D - Five go adventuring again
E - Five get into a fix
F - Five Go Off in a Caravan
G - Five Are Together Again
J - Five Have a Wonderful Time
K - Five on Finniston Farm
L - Five run away together
N - Five on a secret trail
P - Five go to mystery moor
S - Five have a mystery to solve
T - Five on a Hike Together
U - Five Go Off to Camp

We haven't identified books C, H, I, M, O, Q and R yet. The remaining books are:
Five on a treasure island
Five go to Smuggler's Top
Five on Kirrin Island again
Five get into trouble
Five fall into adventure
Five go down to the sea
Five go to Demon's Rocks

Any guesses? :)

Why is there a lighthouse on the cover of Five on a Treasure Island, and one on Down to the Sea?
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

I don't know. I suppose they thought it looked iconic for a Famous Five story.
