Thank you - glad you enjoyed it.pete9012S wrote:Most enjoyable Michael - many thanks!
Those are fun to do! But inspiration strikes at unexpected times, and I may write a whole lot - but at other times, I wouldn't be able to even make up a one-liner if my life depended on it.
It's a bit like writing haiku in that regard, if not similar in any other way really.
Regards, Michael.

"Quentin, aren't you going up to your study to work on your formulas?" asked Aunt Fanny in surprise as Uncle Quentin continued to sit around after dinner, stroking Timmy's head. "I thought you had so much to do."
"I'm sick and tired of numbers and formulas and calculations - they are really doing my head in. I am getting to hate mathematics. I'd like to sit with the children and play Snap."

Arriving at Kirrin Cottage, the children were pleased to see Joan again - but stared in surprise when they saw her. They recognized her face, of course, but she was stick-thin! She must have lost many stone since they had last seen her.
"Hallo, children," she said. "See my new look? I got tired of being so plump and decided to do something about it."
"You're looking good, Joan," said Dick.
But inwardly, he felt dismay - he knew this did not bode well for the future quality of meals at Kirrin Cottage. Dick did not trust a slim cook!

“I’ve been writing another pome,” said Ern Goon. “And what’s more, I’ve finished it.”

These are the last two limes of a pome Ern wrote about his uncle. “When Uncle’s on a case he has no luck. But do I care? Do I. No.

I'm enjoying the latest contributions to this thread! A good giggle is just what we need in these testing times.

The Find-Outers trooped into the cafe on Peterswood High Street. “I’m a bit short of money today,” said Fatty gloomily, and ordered a coffee and five straws.
