I'm not sure what happened there. I put the U in before I posted, but somehow it didn't get into the post.

You're right, Courtenay, - but not about where it comes from. It's from 'The Mystery that Never Was'. Punch, the dog, returns with one of the villains' shoe.

Ah, I see — I've never read that one. Enid obviously had a thing for dogs called Punch!
