Are garages in the UK located away from the house -- that is, I assume you can't enter the house directly from the garage? In the US, it would be hard to be locked 'inside' a garage, because typically, once you park the car, you shut the garage door from the inside, and enter the house directly from the garage. So I am not clear on this one.

With regard to the secret passage one, if these passages lead elsewhere, the mobile members of the 5 (i.e. minus Dick and Timmy) could do a bit of exploring, marking the passage walls as they go, in order to not get lost. They must lead somewhere. :D

There are both kinds to be found in the UK. Many houses have garages where you can enter from a door in the house, but there are also many detached from houses too. These tend to belong to older houses where there may not have been a garage at all when they were built.

Our house is beside our house but there is no door leading to it.

I wish I had a house joined to my house, providing of course, that they were both my houses. I could live in one and my wife in the other.

Seen as no-one has posted one for a while I will go now...

Puzzle:
Jack, Philip, Diana and Lucy-Ann have been travelling by van with Bill somewhere and after stopping for a little rest Jack has accidentally got in the back of the wrong van. He only notices when he finds the van moving and the others are not all there. He panics and opens the door at the back but the van is moving fast. The back of the van is attached to the bit that is driving it so Jack couldn't just tell the driver... How can he get out and go back to the others before it is all to late? All he has in the van is some sacks which contain sawdust, some lengths of rope, a few cardboard boxes and a large dog cage...

Can you think of a way Jack can escape by quickly, before he is to far away from the others? :?
Good luck!

Owww... that seems really hard Poppy....... hmm.... let me think....

1.He can throw the sawdust as he goes, so that the others can follow it.....

2. He can tie the rope to a hook or something in the van, and then he can jump out such that he won't get scratched on the ground, only hang in the air and go along. then he can try to jump.
