Poor icey, it just shows how the young can take something like the word 'competition' so seriously. Iluveb has probably forgotten all about her post now, as I think she was doing some sort of homework on this subject anyway.

ALL THE BEST!!! :) :D
Icey-perhaps iluveb is at this very moment agonising over who to choose as the winner of the 'mega writing competition'.
As mentioned above, she may even decide to select 'nominies' and organize a poll to choose the eventual winner.
So Icey, please don't worry,I'm sure iluveb will sort everything out in good time for all those who wait with bated breathe to read her next important post on this most exciting competition.

I think its been a very good idea to make us write a short account on a subject given to us( with a strict set of rules to adhere to to be allowed to take part)and hope after the success of this competition iluveb will consider other mega competitions for us all to get involved in.

Regards

Pete

I hope Iluveb will return to the thread. Let's give her until 10th April, which is a week after the deadline. If Iluveb hasn't chosen a winner by then, we'll think of some way of judging the competition.

Iluveb (if you're reading this), you'll remember that you began this thread just after I had deleted a couple of other threads/polls you'd started. You also had another idea for a competition and I said no to that one, but agreed in a PM that this one could stay because it had potential. I added:

Let's see how it goes. I see you have set a deadline of a fortnight. I'm sure you realise that means you do need to make sure you come back to it a fortnight from now, and give feedback. People who enter will have spent a considerable amount of time writing their pieces and won't want the game to just fizzle out with no feedback.

You were trusted with a degree of responsibility and I hope you're not going to disappoint people. Please don't set up a poll to judge the entries because that would only prolong things further. But if you're around, please do pick a winner as soon as possible.

Did IloveEB get back to you, Icey?

It is possible that she got very offended by our insinuating that she might be outsourcing her homework assignment to us, and decided to chuck the forums for good. If she doesn't come back, perhaps the people who wrote the essays can simply share the honors between them, or get another person to judge the winner. There is no prize anyway. Personally, I thought all the essays were very interesting to read.

In came the Taggertys. They were clean, except Biddy knees looked like she had been crawling half a mile in some muddy place.
