Yes, really. But first editions with original illustrations are so hard to find and so very expensive these days!!!

Re: Come Inside Fattys Shed...
I'm not sold on that picture at all. Bets doesn't appear any younger than the rest of the children, and Buster is about the size of a Labrador.pete9012S wrote:

Exactly!! He's plump, but not FAT!! And Bet's looks more like Lady Candling's younger version!!!

I was referring to the illustration, not the real Fatty!Darrell71 wrote:Exactly!! He's plump, but not FAT!!

Are you looking at the right Fatty? The one speaking with the long trousers is Larry, if you look at the other illustrations for the story.

They all look pretty slim here!
However, Fatty does look fatter in the other illustrations.

Way FAT! In fact, Bet's looks so horrid I would readily have illustrated it myself.

Sorry to say so friends--- but we seem to go off topic, very often-- .
Can I just write what I feel would be in Fatty's shed?
Well of course a chest of drawers, full of booklets helping him in disguises,---- then an old wardrobe full of disguises --, a post man's,, a telegraph boy's,----- a butcher boy's,---- a gipsy woman's,--- a ballon woman's a dirty old tramp's. There will be grease paints, sets of false teeth,--- a walking stick (when he disguises as an old man.)

That's strange because I'd brought the topic back the post before yours!Nair Snehalatha wrote:Sorry to say so friends--- but we seem to go off topic, very often-- .

I just meant that we tend to stray away from the main topic often.Of course you had brought it in---,and I followed suit. No offence meant, friend.

Re: Come Inside Fatty's Shed...
Ern slept in the shed. What mystery was that? Also wonder what month of the year it was? Although the shed did have an oil stove to keep it cosy.
How many nights did Ern sleep there? I don't recall anyone else sleeping in the shed? Oh,what about the Strange messages? Did someone sleep in the shed then? Can't seem to recall....
At this point you may be wondering if you are allowed to sleep in a shed.....

I always thought it strange that Ern should have to sleep in Fatty's shed. That's the class barier for you. If it had been one of the others he would have been offered the spare room, or at the very least Fatty's room!!pete9012S wrote:Ern slept in the shed. What mystery was that?
