"Well, we'd all be very grateful if you would!" said Pip with a note of sarcasm in his voice.

'Pip.I think you need a plate of hot buttery toast,some fresh gooey macaroons and some steaming hot chocolate! Lets get to the diary and talk there instead while the coasts clear',beamed Fatty....

"And how do you think the coast'll clear if we don't shake off the strange lot who still seem to be following us, Fatty?" asked Daisy breathlessly.

Just then a strange vehicle went past scaring Daisy as it tooted its horn right behind her...'What are you doing there!'she yelled in alarm...'Driving Miss Daisy!!',replied the man on the strange contraption......

"Who...? what on earth was that?" stuttered Larry in amazement while his sister stood still, her face pale as she watched the strange object disappear round the corner.

'Didnt you recognise him,said Daisy,suddenly feeling faint,'It was......................

"...........that awful little baker -Twit, who we thought was invisible! He must be back in the area after serving his sentence. It gave me such a shock to see him, especially as he spoke in such a cheeky tone. Oh how I hated him and his big-headed attitude!"

'Oh no,no,no,no,no',wailed Bets who disliked Twit intensely....'Please tell me youre joking!',........

Daisy began to look doubtful. "I don't think I was seeing things," she said "But what do you others think? He knew my name too!" she shuddered.

'Look,said Larry,'He's thrown a book down in the road'.Bets picked it up.......the title of the book was........

...completely obscured by a large smudge which covered quite half of the book.

The children were quite near the village bus stop-as the bus came lumbering along Fatty hissed,'quick jump on this bus as soon as it stops,here it it is,now,quick,everyone jump on!'........

Without waiting to argue, they all piled onto the bus, hoping that, as usual, Fatty would have enough money to pay the fares.
