He means he is answering in the affirmative.

The trouble with this game is that it only really works if it is done orally. Perhaps there should be a further constraint like not using a particular letter. 'E' would probably be too difficult. Maybe 'u'?

I rarely play this game so perhaps regulars could say whether they'd like to increase the difficulty by having to avoid a certain letter.
