Gadzooks and I won't let it go to our heads, Tony...we only have to look around these forums to remind ourselves of how little we really know about so much of EB's writings....

Re: Children's Book Characters Quiz
I agree with Tony, Aurélien - a fantastic achievement indeed! I've had a cursory look at the questions and they look very difficult to me. I hope I'm able to match your high score when I get round to attempting the answers.

Thanks, Eddie and Laura. Of course I had to confirm some details by websearches.....my memory isn't that good. Best of fortune with your own entries.

Oh dear, poor Aurélien, Laura has just knocked you off your perch!
A score of 186 out of 200, and there was me thinking that it was quite difficult and I am being proved wrong by either some fantastic knowledge or some pretty nifty internet searching!
Actually Laura, one or two things that you missed out on you will kick yourself on, your score might have been even better!!

Very well done, indeed, Laura. You're entitled to celebrate 'cos the chances of anyone even equalling such a score are fairly low. *Wonders if Laura is a Librarian specializing in books for young readers...*

You wouldn't PM me the things I missed, would you? I'm dying to know now, and of course I'll keep quiet about them!Tony Summerfield wrote:Actually Laura, one or two things that you missed out on you will kick yourself on, your score might have been even better!!

Re: Children's Book Characters Quiz
I've just emailed my answers to you, Tony. I really had to put my thinking cap on and I still couldn't answer all the questions. Now my brain is hurting, but I look forward to finding out my score.

Best of fortune, Eddie.
A post-quiz lie-down with a cold, damp towel over one's aching brows works wonders...trust me, I had to try it myself.

Another high roller! Well done Eddie! You have come in with a score of 180 - fantastic stuff. With some late additions to his original answers Aurélien is pushing this sort of score as well - perhaps the Gadfly was a bit quick off the mark with his original offering. I am highly impressed with all three of you - obviously I made the questions far too easy for the sort of experts (knowledge or Googling?) that we have here.
I have a distinct feeling that I should have used the internet to help me set the questions instead of ploughing through all the books!

Thanks for your kind comments, Tony. I confess that I did seek a little help with your very tricky questions, but I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience!

I too have just PMd Tony with my quiz replies. Fingers crossed, but in any case have thoroughly enjoyed this - brought back lots of lovely reading memories.
