Bertie wrote: 27 Dec 2023, 15:46 As I've never read the fantasy type books, I don't really know much about the likes of Moonface or Silky, so I'll also opt for Aunt Allie. She's a likeable enough character, though she doesn't really add much to the stories and I'd have probably gone for Miss Pepper than her as she adds more banter and humour with the children (in her series).

Aunt Allie or Kiki?
Kiki. Much more fun than Aunt Allie, lovely woman though Allie undoubtedly is.

Kiki or Jack Trent?

I'll take Kiki, as Jack wouldn't be nearly as interesting a character without her.

Kiki or — for something completely different — the Dragon-Bird (Enid Blyton's Book of Brownies)?

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I love Kiki but I've chosen her before so I'll choose the Dragon-Bird this time. It would be great fun to ride on his back as he flies through the sky.

The Dragon-Bird (The Enid Blyton Book of Brownies) or Bobbo the bear (Come to the Circus!)?

Definitely the Dragon-Bird! It's a surprising twist in the story how he initially seems to be an enemy but turns into a friend — and riding on the back of a creature like that would be wonderful.

The Dragon-Bird (Enid Blyton's Book of Brownies) or Sooty the talking cat (Mr Pink-Whistle stories)?

As I like the idea of a talking cat I'll opt for Sooty!

Sooty the talking cat (Mr Pink-Whistle stories) OR Mr. Binks, Susy-Ann's mischievous goat (Boys' and Girls' Circus Book) ?

I have not read about Mr Pink-Whistle or read Mr Binks, the goat but I shall choose the goat.

Mr Binks, the goat or Mr Binks, who guarded part of Clopper in Five Go Down To The Sea.

As fond as I am of Clopper's antics, I can't say I'm all that bothered about Mr Binks - but as I've never heard of the goat then I'll stick with the FF version.

Mr Binks (who guarded part of Clopper in Five Go Down To The Sea) or Richard Thurlow Kent (Five Get Into Trouble)?

I seem to recall Richard Kent wasn't much fun (it's years since I last read that book), so I'll go for Mr Binks.

Mr Binks (keeper of Clopper's head in Five Go Down to the Sea or Mr Penruthlan (same book)?

Mr Penruthlan, as he is quite interesting, especially without his teeth!

Don't really have much of a preference but, to get the thread going again, I'll opt for Mr Penruthlan.

Mr Penruthlan (Five Go Down to the Sea) or Mr King (The Rockingdown Mystery)?

I think I’ll go for Mr King who turned out to be a good guy.

Mr King (Rockingdown) or Zoe Markham (Pantomime Cat).

Zoe Markham. I remember nothing about her except that I was intrigued by a name beginning with Z.

Zoe Markham (Pantomime Cat) or Miss Trimble/Tremble (Disappearing Cat)?

Tricky one.
If I was choosing for a date, it would be easy (the lovely Miss Trimble, obviously :) ), but Miss Trimble/Tremble adds some good (unintentional) humour that Zoe doesn't. But I'll opt for Zoe, as she seems a nice, likeable chatacter.

Zoe Markham (Pantomime Cat) or Jock (Five Go Off To Camp)?

That is difficult but I'll opt for Zoe as she seems a kind person.

Definitely Zoe. Eunice did nothing for me.

Zoe (Pantomime Cat) or Lucien (Ship of Adventure)?
