You must have been speed-reading, Ming, as I hadn't yet chosen a winner when you posted your last message!
But I have now and the winner is...
Lucky Star with: "Drat that Jamie Oliver, I want my turkey twizzlers back".
Congratulations, Lucky Star! It was a close call between yours and Stephen's, but in the end I chose yours because it was short and snappy and very apt.
Thanks to all who entered!
Have you got a new picture for us, Lucky Star?

Wow. Thank you all very much. Some of the entries were indeed very funny. As regards a new one I'm not really sure how to post pictures as I dont have a scanner or digital camera. Anyone got any suggestions? Or if anyone has a pic they would like to post then feel free to do so.
I'm off to work now so I'll have a look at this in the evening.

If you like, Lucky Star, you could tell me which picture you want to post and I'll scan it from my copy of the book and put it on for you (assuming that I've got a copy of the book with the same illustrations!)

I say, this bottle of sunscreen is only factor 8! Not nearly strong enough with all this Global Warming business. I mean, just look around us. Whoever would believe this is a January day in Putney?!

That's from one of the Adventure books isn't it? Is there any chance of making it just a tad bigger?
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

er. more a paragraph than a caption...
Fatty chuckled to himself as he took off the voluminous Greek woman's clothes, and unwound the scarf from his head. He unscrewed his face. He was so brown he hadn't needed any make-up. Thank goodness his parents had decided to take him on another cruise! Not content with causing havoc merely in Peterswood now, he had decided to start kicking off other people's mysteries as well.
