Let's hope that 'Phillip Mannering' joins us again some time.
Meanwhile, to get this thread moving again, here is a quotation that should be fairly easy for you to track down - if you've read most of this Month's Games Board posts.
Which character (in which book) said
"Weasels are even more catching than measles, as far as rabbits are concerned"?
I'm not too familiar with the Enid Blyton books for younger children, Aurélien, but I have done a bit of research and I think the character might be Mr Whiskers in the book,The Magic Faraway Tree.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Mr Whiskers the brownie, it was, Eddie. I came across it in EB's 1stFaraway Tree book, 'The Enchanted Wood' but it for all I know it may well have been recycled in #2, 'The Magic Faraway Tree', and so.....
Well done, Eddie. You get to post the next question on this thread.
"Do you want to look like Napoleon? I don't think he looks very nice, really. And I don't like those men that go about thinking they want to conquer the whole world."
Name the character and the book.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.
Here goes: "Not quite well....but much, much better. It was such a terrible shock you know, and I've never been very strong. Oh, its wonderful to be with my big boy again, and my pretty girl, and my baby!"
Now, who said that...and in which book???
"I mean - unless you saddle and bridle and groom your own horse, it isn't a real horse!" (Jack Longfield, Six Cousins at Mistletoe Farm).
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
Here's a new quote - just picked up the book I am reading at the moment and picked the first decent quote from the page I am on.
"No Mother, no, - it's listening to all that about the Gulping Beetles....... I can't seem to stop gulping myself"
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
Indeed it, is. The line before is his mother asking him is he is choking while at lunch listening to Mr Tolling talk about beetles.
Your go now
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
