John Allsup.

Post by John Pickup »

Not an author as such, but he did have a keen interest and knowledge of children's authors especially Malcolm Saville and Monica Edwards. His centenary website relating to Saville is a wonderful source of information about the author and his work, as is his website relating to Edwards. He also produced a definitive history of Armada paperbacks on another website which any collector of these books would find invaluable. Our very own Tony provided John with some of the covers.
Sadly, he passed away earlier this week of cancer against which he had fought a long battle. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a book fair in Harrogate a few years ago and he was a lovely man. RIP John.

RIP John Allsup. I've found his Malcolm Saville website extremely useful over the years.
