Re: Your Enid Blyton Dreamhouse...
Did anyone ever experience a very strong feeling of magic and awe when going through the lychgate of Enid's Old Thatch?
I know I did!!

Ducking under the lych gate of Old Thatch almost makes you feel like you’re entering another, more magical world. Whatever the weather the magical feel of this garden does not disappoint..

A lovely article from our friend Stef. It would have made a good Journal article.

Not going through the gate, but there was a lovely peaceful feeling in general and I felt refreshed and recharged after a lovely long sit in the gardens.

'Green Meadows' is one of my favourite Blytons. One of her heart-warming stories about a family who overcome trials with a very happy ending .
Re: Your Enid Blyton Dreamhouse...
Thanks for the recommendation, I shall have get around to reading it.
I suppose I should know that being an Enid Blyton book it will have a happy ending.

I should like to live in Naomi Barlow's house in Ring O 'Bells village and go to Rubadub for my summer holidays.

I would have thought you would have chosen the cellar of a half-ruined house with the six bad boys!

Re: Your Enid Blyton Dreamhouse...
I've just read this in the Eastern Daily Press. Now this does sound as though it could be an Enid Blyton Dreamhouse for the Famous Five.
Secret tunnel to north Norfolk coast found in home]
A couple living in a quiet Norfolk village were stunned when they found two secret tunnels hidden in their cellar. Charlotte Wheeler and her husband Edward were made aware of the passageways at their home in Edgefield, near Holt, when an elderly man knocked on their door about two weeks ago and told them he used to play in the cellar as a child.
The man told them there was one tunnel which only led to the end of the garden, but the other tunnel headed to the coast, with strong rumours it was once used by smugglers. Upon hearing of the tunnels, Mrs Wheeler and her husband headed into the depths of their home with a drill in an attempt to push out a brick and reveal the secret routes.......

Sounds wonderful, and just a few miles away from a steam railway - perfection.

Ha ha - if circumstances and finances allowed for it, my 'day out' to the Sheringham/Holt area would last forever.

Wow, I'd be eager to explore those tunnels as soon as possible!
