Bumper Blyton - Improvised Blyton Farce for Adults

Post by Anita Bensoussane »

Just putting this out there! I've got a feeling it's been on elsewhere in the past. Has anyone seen it?

Yes! I saw them at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015. It was absolutely brilliant, my mum and I didn't stop laughing the whole way through.

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

I am going tomorrow night - I am so excited. I thought I would have to go on my own which I was prepared to do but surprisingly I found someone to go with me !! Ok my husband, but he will do !!! I had hoped for Fatty but I suppose that is wishful thinking

It was interesting. The link to Enid Blyton was tenuous to say the least. I hadn't read the advert properly but it was improvisation loosely in the style of Enid Blyton. There was some very funny moments and I have no doubt that the cast was talented, to think up a whole play on the spot is very impressive but for me it didn't quite work.

Sorry it wasn't as Blytonish as expected.

Hi don't worry, it was quite fun and kept my mind off these pesky Russians. We need Bill Smugs to sort them out !
