Not sure if there's an English version of this in the cave?

Looking through the ebay pictures it's funny these days to see a large advertisement for ciggies included in this package!

I love the way the kids are colour coded. Green and blue for Dinah and Philip, yellow and white for Jack and Lucy-Ann.

 Your comment made me chuckle, John (Lucky Star)!

It's an adventurous-looking cover but the valley looks terribly barren!

There are quite a few foreign-language records available on eBay, e.g. this one of Der Berg Der Abenteuer (The Mountain of Adventure):

The three children pictured all have startlingly blond hair despite the fact that Enid Blyton (in the English books, at least) repeatedly mentions that Jack and Lucy-Ann have red hair and Dinah and Philip have brown hair. Come to think of it, Philip and Dinah are also given blond hair on the record sleeve for Das Tal der Abenteuer (The Valley of Adventure).

In the 70s seven of the eight Adventure books were published by different record labels. In the late 80s "Europa" published all 8 stories with new scripts, but I consider them disappointing and terribly short compared to the Famous Five audiobooks published by "Europa".

It's very annoying when stories are abridged. All the little details are part of the experience and they matter just as much as the actual plot - sometimes more! We wouldn't feel so attached to the characters if we didn't witness the banter, supportive comments and bonds of affection between them - or the individual thoughts and dreams that are shared with us from time to time.

How frustrating too that only seven of the eight Adventure titles were released by different German record labels in the 1970s!

Unfortunately many of the dramatisations are disappointing. Europa did a very good job with the Famous Five series, and I think the R-Mystery series is also okay, but as I already stated the Adventure series is disappointing, some of them roughly just about 30 minutes long. In comparison the Famous Five ones are usually 40-45 minutes long. The St Clare's and Malory Towers series are okay if I remember correctly.
Many of the one-off books are extremely disappointing if you know the original book though.

It would certainly be hard to do an Adventure book justice in 30 minutes!
