I think it's Five on Kirrin island again. It also is the entry to the underground passage connecting to the mainland which UQ used.

Five Run Away Together is the one where they find the roof of that room has fallen in, which is why they move to the cave. (I always think it's a bit far-fetched that George, who surely knows every square inch of Kirrin Island, has never found the cave before, but it's a good story anyway.)

I have read Five on Kirrin Island Again, but only once, and as it was over 25 years ago, I honestly don't remember the room now being conveniently intact again, though that's the sort of plot hole I would normally notice at once, especially as Five Run Away Together was one of my favourites!! I only remember finding the whole plot quite creepy and even terrifying, as Kirrin Island came so close to being blown up...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I don't think it's a plot hole - I considered it plausible that Uncle Quentin would make sure that no more roof fell on his head if he's accessing the room at least four times a day ;-).

Yes, that's right.

In Run Away Together the room has fallen in completely and they can't get into it. In Kirrin Island Again Quentin is using the secret entrance in the fireplace to enter the dungeon. I'm sure they even mention the room being the only complete one but I'd have to check.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Five on Treasure Island, chapter 5: "That room seems to be the only one quite whole."

So is it correct to say that out of all their twenty one adventures and short stories the Famous Five only stay overnight on Kirrin Island in book one and book three?

(I didn't include book six when George pops over, is captured when checking up on her Father.)

That sounds about right, Pete. :D
I once checked and came up with 7 FF books set either in Kirrin Bay or on Kirrin Island, even if it was only mentioned for a short chapter like in "Five have plenty of Fun" (Bertha).
Those 7 books are my favorites plus "Five go to Smuggler's Top".

This is my list of books taking place at Kirrin Bay and on Kirrin Island:

1. Five on a Treasure Island
2. Five go adventuring again
3. Five run away together
4. Five on Kirrin island again
5. Five fall into Adventure
6. Five have plenty of Fun
7. Five on a Secret Trail (one of my favorites)

Did I forget one? Please let me know.

Kirrin Bay and Kirrin Island kept enchanting my imagination over the past 55 years and I will continue to read FF books as long as I live. :D
Just to imagine to live there... 8) 8) 8)

John, I have to admit that I read the last 6 FF sequels only once (probably more than 40 years ago).
And except of "Five get into a Fix" I didn't care for any of them. But I will reread "Five are together again" if it takes place in Kirrin Bay.
Thank you! :D

I’d love to live on Kirrin Island and get away from everything! :D Maybe it would be free from Covid as well!

I do wish more of the FF books could have focused around Kirrin Island as it really was the most magical part of the whole series.

We'll have to set up a rapid result testing station for anyone wishing to come over to the island, before they get into the boat.
