Well if you need a tester - I'm an expert! I've just spent the last week as part of the testing team at a local high school, supervising and processing the tests of all students from years 7 - 13, plus 3 years for a second time! By the end of next week they should all have done 3 tests each, so I'm sure I'll be able to cope with testing a few forumites.
I'm thinking that maybe I should get a photo taking of me in my PPE to post under the 'Personal Photographs' topic - I look very glamourous.

How I agree with you Deej - As the series progressed there always seemed to be a reason why they could not go there.
This was was one of my few disappointments when I read the books as a child.

Deejay raises an interesting point about how little Kirrin Island featured in later books. After Plenty of Fun, the only subsequent book in which the island is visited, is at the end of Together Again. A case of too little, too late.
It is tantalizingly mentioned in Five Go to Billycock Hill as the Five are setting off on their bicycles. They say something along the lines that it would have been nice to visit it, but they'll wait until the summer holidays and go over then. However their next adventure is set in the winter, so we don't know if they visited the island that summer or not.

Yes, it is a pity the fan letters didn't survive. Enid should have stored them in the dungeons of Kirrin Castle. I'm sure that Pete would have made a marvellous curator and looked after them.

Ooer, gosh, good work on the testing, Katharine! I have to do it three times a week (twice on Mondays, once on Thursdays), but only to myself, not to others.
I have a PPE selfie somewhere on my phone, at the suggestion of a home-visit patient in London who was very amused to see all my extra gear and said I should send a selfie to my parents! I may see if I can find it...
