Gosh, what incredible attention to detail! I love the little armchairs. Regarding the characters, I actually prefer the face sculpted from air-drying clay which was originally made for Moonface as the Fimo faces look too smooth.

Truly amazing, and its easy to see how much she loved her Magic Faraway books.
And as Anita said her attention to detail is astonishing.
The amount of patience it would take to complete that project to that standard, wow.

I'm really impressed with the way the person who made the tree stuck to the books regarding essential features but used their imagination and made the tree their own when it came to little details not mentioned in the stories - e.g. tiling Moonface's floor with shiny pennies and hanging circle-patterned paper on the walls to reinforce the "round" theme, and creating a steampunk-inspired male den for the metal-covered Saucepan Man and his friend Watzisname. Just brilliant!

Impressive indeed.
A couple of years ago I came across another very different tribute to The Magic Faraway Tree in the gardens of Carrick Hill, one of the few stately homes and gardens gifted to the people of South Australia and run by the National Trust. On the 'Story Book Trail' the Faraway Tree and other very English children's classics can be discovered on a bush walk designed to connect Australian Children with both their unique environment and the incomparably rich heritage of English literature. I think that Enid Blyton would have approved.
Google seems to supply lots of links for those who would like to discover more. Is your favourite classic along the trail?

I gather that The Secret Garden is on the trail, Judith. It's a magical story and has long been a favourite. I've befriended a robin or two while working in a friend's garden and I always think of Mary Lennox.
