With the Beatrix Potter 50p collection being very popular I wonder whether the Royal Mint will consider a collection of Enid Blyton themed coins?
I know there was a collection of stamps a few years ago, which I have the stamps themselves and postcards of, but a set of coins would be lovely.

I would have thought that if was in their intentions, last year would have been a time they may have chosen being the 50th Anniversary since her death, but alas not!

Brilliant, Pete.

I too would have liked to see EB themed coins. If Beatrix Potter can have them and Paddington Bear, why not Enid Blyton? I'd argue she's easily as deserving and well known as BP and infinitely more so than Paddington Bear, whose author I can't even remember!

Paddington Bear was written by Michael Bond which first appeared in 1958.
As a child I don't remember reading the books but i do remember the short 5 minute TV programme that was the last item on BBC before the news started as 5.45.
I tried to copy an image of the book here, how do you copy / save an image ? as I've seen them on many other posts thanks.
but as said i think if there was to be any Enid Blyton themed coins they would have been produced by now

Paul, you can't upload images here like on other forums, you have to link to them on a website that hosts them for you, using the image BBCode: [img]url_pasted_here[/img]

Interesting, Pete. However, the Grammar Nazis might take issue with it!

Yes, hopefully they might clash with the U.M's - giving relief from the lot of them.
