Plush Scamper model

Post by IceMaiden »

Besides Enid Blyton books, one of my hobbies is making soft sculpture dogs. After making a few, I got the idea to do something I've never seen before, plush models of Enid's doggy characters! Here are Timmy and Scamper, Scamper is for sale and has been photographed by a professional in a studio, Timmy is not and been taken by me with a pocket camera hence the big difference in images :P .

Great idea, IceMaiden! Is Buster on your list of "dogs to do"?

Timmy is especially good, his face is very similar to Soper's depiction of him. Scamper is really cool too. I'd also like to see you tackle Buster. :D

Yes, that's what I was thinking too. Buster next, please, IceMaiden, if you're planning to do another Blyton dog — preferably with the look of delight on his face that he gets just before making a lunge for Goon's ankles!!

Thank you for your comments :D . After re-looking at these I consider the pictures of Tim are more accurate than the ones of Scamper despite those being taken with a much higher quality camera :?. I'm no photography expert so I've no idea why they look quite poor when the original prints are spot on. Here's some that are a truer representation as he's much more gingery and shaded tones than the first images show.

I do want to make a Buster when I get the chance, and possibly a Loony too as those are the four from the 'main' books. I'll see what I can come up with 8) .
