'This is Enid Blyton' Magazine
i was browsing on the internet trying to get some ideas for Christmas presents when I found this:
https://www.dcthomsonshop.co.uk/books/t ... nid-blyton" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't recall it being mentioned on the forums, but Anita will put me right if it has. I don't know if it is a one-off or a regular publication, it comes from the publishers of The Beano, has anyone seen it?

It looks good - introducing children to Blyton can't be bad, but I must say I smiled at the "Learn how to draw Timmy" invitation... not sure I want a Timmy who looks like that.Kate Mary wrote:i was browsing on the internet trying to get some ideas for Christmas presents when I found this:

What on Earth is a 'Flip 'N' Twist' magazine? £4.99 seems rather expensive for a kids' comic/magazine though. I will look out for it in a newsagent's when next in the city. I wonder if it's a periodical or just a one-off.

I bought a copy of the ‘This is Enid Blyton’ magazine in W.H. Smith’s In Burgess Hill for £3.99 this afternoon.
As well as the magazine, the package includes ‘The Secret Seven Brains Games’ magazine, The Secret Seven paperback (worth £6.99), four Famous Five pencils and a pack of Famous Five story stickers. All for £3.99.

Thanks for letting us know, Kate. I wasn't aware that a magazine was coming out.
Fiona posted about that earlier:Moonraker wrote:I wonder if it's a periodical or just a one-off.

Re: 'This is Enid Blyton' Magazine
I discovered the information yesterday on the D.C. Thomson website when I was looking for Dandy and Beano items. I must admit that I was surprised to see the package detailed above in W.H. Smith’s today. Although the cover price is £4.99, I was charged just £3.99 at the check-out. Excellent value. The WHS branch in Burgess Hill actually had six copies on their shelf.Eddie Muir wrote:I bought a copy of the ‘This is Enid Blyton’ magazine in W.H. Smith’s In Burgess Hill for £3.99 this afternoon.

Re: 'This is Enid Blyton' Magazine
Oh my goodness! I was sitting in a crowded supermarket restaurant with my best friend and her children last week. While we were waiting for our meals, she went off to buy them each a magazine to pass the time - and also bought this for me! I didn't think I'd seriously read it all the way through, but found myself looking at The Secret Seven Brain Games. I've always found wordsearches and mazes to be very therapeutic, whatever age group they're for!
Also, I didn't realise Julian now looks like me as a child!

I had a look at it in Smith's yesterday. It was cello-wrapped, but as my grandchildren have a complete set of SS books, I didn't buy it.

Re: Enid Blyton Magazine
I hadn't heard of one...but doing a Google search, I did discover that one was published in December 2018 - not that I heard anything about it at the time, and it seems like a one-off!
