Re: Fan fiction
Sally Neary has written some, but she has included the Mannerings with the 'Barney' characters. You can find them here. Just scroll down a little way.

Re: Enid Blyton Fan Fiction?
Thinking of early fan fiction - here's something I found today that I wrote aged 11 - definitely plagiarised from your typical EB novel! Thankfully, only this first chapter survives!
THE WILL
Chapter One - The Old Cottage
"Children! Where are you?"
A mother stood in a garden, calling loudly.
"Coming mother!" a boy calls. He is John, a sturdy good-looking boy of about 14. A girl is by his side. She has wispy black hair and her name is Julie. They go into their garden. "What is it?" says John.
"I've had a letter from my cousin asking if you would like to stay with a friend of hers at her cottage." said Mother, "This is what she says - 'Dear Sue and children, I had a letter from my friend Old Mrs Willian to ask if my children could go and stay with her. I wrote to tell her that unfortunately my two have mumps. She asked me if your children could come instead. Don't write - it's quicker to phone if they can come, from your cousin Jane."
"Can we go?" said John, "Do say yes!"
"I suppose so" said Mother
"Oh good!" said Julie, "Where is Old Mrs Willian's house?"
Their mother told them it was in Wales and they were to go the next day.
The next day was bright and sunny and the two children set off at 11 o'clock in the morning. "Find an empty carriage!" said John, "then we can talk as much as we like." So they found an empty carriage and sat down. At half past eleven the train started to chug out of the station. It was full of people and every carriage had someone in it. The children fell asleep after lunch and didn't wake up until they came to the station. John stood up quickly. "Come on!" he said, "This is our stop!"
They were soon walking up the lane to the cottage and they knocked on the door.
"Come in! Wipe your feet! Blow ya nose, hit your knee!" was the reply. They went inside.
"Don't worry," said an old woman, "It wasn't me talking it was the parrot." she pointed to the parrot and Julie laughed.
"We didn't know you had a parrot," Julie said, "This is going to be fun!"
"Come now tea is ready." said the old lady.
For tea they had sandwiches, jelly, and home made scones. "Goodness!" whispered Jane that night as they got into bed, "We'll be fat by the end of the week!"
Chapter Two - The Music Box
(thankfully the rest of the book is missing - but I did write a 'blurb' on the back page of the book it was written in -
"John and Julie go to Wales for a holiday. They stay with Old Mrs Willian. She is a widow. What happens when John finds a will in her old music box and how they find the treasure makes a thrilling adventure story!"

I can't imagine where you got the inspiration for a parrot like that!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Fan Fiction
Merged with an older topic.
Not sure if right place on Forum for this so happy if subject gets moved but what are people's thoughts on Fan Fiction ?
I must admit I haven't read any myself but am thinking that whilst it wont have the original "feel" of an Enid Blyton book I think I will give some a go at reading.
Does anyone have any particular stories that have liked / disliked ?
Any best places on the web for EB Fan Fiction ?

Re: Fan Fiction
I read the 'fan fic' on this site - although I prefer to call them 'continuation novels' because the quality is so high. I've also read Julie's Find Outer stories about the characters when they are older, which are very good and very entertaining! Apart from that, despite the fact I've written some myself, I don't tend to read a lot of fan fiction from elsewhere - just people I know!

Re: Fan Fiction
There are also continuation 'fan fic' stories true to the way Blyton wrote her books, Paul, on this site, and can be read if you are a member of the society.

Yes, I agree Julie, I think Paul would really enjoy becoming a member of the Society.
