Silly Songs of the Saucepan Man
Hi,
Is anyone else a fan of the Old Saucepan Man? I love his eccentricities and his silly songs, eg.
Two roses for Bessie,
Two spankings for Jo,
Two ribbons for Fanny,
With a ho-derry-ho!
Anyway, I thought we could have a go at writing our own "Saucepan Man" songs, just for a laugh. Here are two to start us off:
Two suspects for Fatty,
Two Great Auks for Jack,
Two shoes for Tassie,
With a jackdaw's chack-chack-chack.
Two kippers for Twiddle,
Two glues for Bets,
Two muddles for Meddle,
And cries of "Yes, do let's!"
Anita

I recently read the faraway tree books to my daughter and she really enjoyed them, specially saucepans songs - so much so that she read those parts outloud herself. And I've heard her making them up before too just can't remember the words right now I'll have to ask her after school and see if she'll let me post them.
Really liked your two.... songs Anita

Two Cakes for Anita
Two cookies for Raci
Two Doughnuts for Moonraker

Oooh - thanks for the cakes! Sadly, Raci hasn't been around for some time, so others may end up grabbing those cookies!

Re: Silly Songs of the Saucepan Man
Great idea for a thread! I really enjoy the Saucepan man's silly songs, too. Here's my go at writing one:
Two spanks for Edgar,
Two jokes for Dick
Two bones for Timmy
And for George, one big lick!
Two 'Pretend' cars for Tinker,
Two frocks for Anne,
Two forumlas for Uncle Quentin
And what for Julian?
Two cooks for Fanny,
Two butterflys for Luffy,
Two guards for Richard
And heather beds-all fluffy!
Two 'twennys' for Berta,
Two baths for Jo,
Two Horses for Henrietta,
And to Smugglers Tops you can go!

Re: Silly Songs of the Saucepan Man
Thanks Anita, I'm getting a bit carried away with these now!
Two 'glues' for Bets,
Two nips off Buster to Goon,
Two boasts from Fatty,
I hope there's a mystery soon!
Two disguises for Pip,
Two 'pomes' for Ern,
Two cakes in the dairy,
For the inspector, another good turn!
Two puzzles for Larry,
Two toffees for Sid,
Two scoldings from Perce,
What a fine bunch of kids!

Re: Silly Songs of the Saucepan Man
A Saucepan Man song about Twiddle:
Two fish in the post-box,
Two boots in the pan,
Two cards in the shoe-rack -
Oh Twiddle, you silly old man!
One about revised Blyton books:
Two gollies - remove them!
Two "queers" - out they go!
Two Fannys - disgraceful!
And we mustn't have spankings, you know!
