Thanks, John! I'll listen to them later when I have more time.

Hi John.

I've tried to access the links you left but it says 'there are no files in the account'.

G'day Wayne,

I've edited the previous posts, so they should work now.

Cheers,

Not tapes but we have a couple of the Hodder audio CDs of the St Clares books and quite enjoy them. They are very abridged from the books and some of the characters don't seem very well cast (eg, Mamzelle sounds about 15yo on one CD!) but they are quite fun to listen to. We actually put them on the stereo and on repeat while we at work to deter burglars!

Have also just borrowed an unabridged CD set of The Magic Faraway Tree from the library. We have a long car trip coming up in a few weeks so will save that for then, I think.

Jane Asher had a five year relationship with Paul McCartney in the 1960`s. They got engaged on Christmas day 1967 and broke up early 1968!

My copy of Sea is a bit funny though - when I first played side one, it was already halfway through the story! I've since found out that the sides were somehow mixed up. The Rainbow series did two of the St. Clare’s books too.

Thanks very much for these. I only have one Enid Blyton tape: Secret Seven on the Trail.

We played it endlessly when I was young, but the transfer came out amazingly clear. If anyone wants any tips on transferring cassettes, I'm happy to help.

Anyway, enjoy!

Thanks so much everyone, for uploading these audio files.

Like others have mentioned before me, I often use talking books to help me get to sleep or to occupy me during onerous household chores or to while away a long journey.

I'm lucky enough to have recorded a few myself as well and I always love creating all the characters' voices... :D

Please keep them coming if there are any more to share

That's interesting. Were they non-Blyton books?

They were, Anita.

I also do computer games/Nintendo/Playstation voice-overs.

Often thought about recording my own versions of Blyton books [for personal use only!]

I mainly do adult abriged books, but hoping to spread my wings with the various audio book companies this year.

Am currently a member of the Audiobook Publishing Association and just about to join the Equity Committee with special interest in audiobooks, so watch this space

My friend, Jan Francis has done a few Blytons, I think.

Good idea!

Yes, she has. I can never think of her without thinking of Just Good Friends. I read somewhere that the character she played was called Penny Warrender because the writer of the sitcom was a fan of Malcolm Saville's Lone Pine adventures.

Ingots, I can't thank you enough. This tape was a regular car favourite in our household when I was a child - complete with everyone joining in the "what is all this noise???" outbursts of Uncle Quentin, and the "we've found the gold, come on down and get it!!!" of the bad guys.

We had another tape from the same produces, too, the one that starts with Dick singing 'on a wonderful day like today'... and we had the first Secret Seven adventure with hilarious actors doing the "what are all those white faces?" "it's SNOWMEN Nibbs, just a load of kids SNOWMEN" :-)

But this one was my favourite, and it's now going on my iPod for the car - just like the old days!!! Thanks again!
