Coincidentally, I've been dipping into The Schoolgirls' Own Annual 1937 for the past week or so. It's chock full of Morcove stories by Marjorie Stanton which are great fun. With more than 220 pages you really got your moneys worth with annuals in those days. The first story 'The Morcove Masquerader' ran to twelve chapters!
