hey , apart from raising money for children in need , how about us having a newsletter--say 4 times a year . anyone can contribute to it . just a thought .

The Famous Five Club raised funds for the little Children's Home in Beaconsfield, which cared for deserted children. there was a club badge with the faces of the famous five on it. Badges do sometimes come up on ebay. They're nice little items to have!
It was formed in September 1952. Hope this helps!!

hi all . just trying to find out about whether the childrens home in beaconsfield is still there or not . the old famous five club used to help with raising funds for it and if it is still there maybe we , the new famous five club could raise funds . i`ll let you know anything later. we can always raise money for another cause if it is no longer there.

hi , thanks for telling me , shall we FF members raise money for an animal charity as enid loved animals -maybe the dogs trust as she had dogs? love to hear other ideas from members

HI pOPPY , GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU. GLAD YOU LIKE THE IDEA OF RAISING MONEY FOR DOGS TRUST. WE CAN THINK OF WAYS TO DO THIS EITHER BY PUTTING CHANGE IN A JAR OR BOX ,OR DOING SPONSORED STUFF MAKING CAKES ANS SELLING THEM .LETS DO IT ! HOPEFULY OTHER MEMBERS MAY CATCH ON .

hi clubbers , i think the charity we could support is THE DOGS TRUST and Poppy AND I ARE GOING TO RAISE MONEY FOR THIS AND SEND IT TO OUR NEAREST BRANCHES IF ANYONE ELSE WANTS TO HELP THEN THATS GREAT . I DO ACTUALLY SPONSOR 2 DOGS AND THEY ARE LOVELY . YOU CAN SEND ANY MONEY RAISED TO YOUR NEAREST CENTRE . CHEERS SUE . UP THE FAMOUS FIVE CLUB!!

I don't think Sue intended to write in capitals - I would imagine she possibly hit the Caps Lock button by mistake. Probably a good idea to check your post after submitting, Sue.
With regards to collecting for charity, JustGiving is an online charity-raising site, and might fit the bill for forumers to contribute safely online.

hey all . had any adventures lately? i`ve had a few--was in south wales for couple of days. have been to leighton buzzard narrow guage railway and the engines saw action in the first world war, went to the wolseley centre in staffs and saw mating toads crossing path we were on ,saw treecreepers in and out of their nests in a slit in a tree went to rspb sandwell valley and saw several nesting birds and finally was in birmingham watching peregrines from the 7th floor of the new library in the garden and it was a great view of the bird on the BT tower. it was a special event and although cold and windy and almost lost my hat it was brilliant seeing the pregrine . the female was out of sight on the nest . now alls over and back at college!

I got some nice Dean Popular Rewards series Blytons. Not old ones though but they look good on my shelf.
