Enid's ability to see things from a child's point of view shines through in these early verses.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

Re: The Garden Party - Real Fairies -1923
I have just been reading a story about a garden party, William the Invisible (from William the Detective, 1935) by Richmal Crompton
William has emerged from a ditch into a garden party, and is anything but invisible
William has emerged from a ditch into a garden party, and is anything but invisible
- "It's the monster!" screamed the girl in the summer-house
"It's our savage!" shouted the three boys
"It's William" moaned Mrs Brown.
