Short Story scrapbook

Post by CharlieT »

Hello.

Hopefully this works this time round. Or ive managed to post the same thing twice.

This evening I have come across these two scrap books that i purchased for 10p each from a car boot sale about 20 years ago. I have always been an avid Enid Blyton fan.

They contain in total 52 short stories along with other little puzzles and quizes that someone, in some point in history has lovingly cut out of a publication and stuck down. I have found some of the story titles on your fabulous website but thought i would share them in this format incase anyone found it interesting.

Hopefully the link below will take you to some pictures. I didnt realise i was so technologically inept!!

Thanks for posting -- those look very interesting, and I would say that handwriting is actually Enid Blyton's! I may be wrong, I hasten to add, but it jumped out at me at once! :D
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Thanks for replying. I really don't know anything at all about where they are from or who owned them previously or how old they are. I'm half tempted to pick at some of the corners to see if there's any dates but i will resist the urge!

A good buy Charlie. as all the stories are by Enid Blyton. They have all been cut out from Teachers World and you should be able to find that they are all listed on our website. Only the stories that have not been collected in books will be shown in full.

Thank you for you knowledge Tony. 20p well spent indeed! Am i right in thinking then that these stories would have been cut out in the late 30s early 40s? Up until today i had always thought they were from the 60s or later.

Enid wrote for teachers World between 1922 - 1945 - here is the link to that part of the Cave -

I love the 'very good word square' puzzle - what a fun puzzle! :D
