Three more lovely stories in Nature Reader Number 32. Thanks, Tony! I particularly like 'Umbrella Weather' with its explanation of why primrose leaves are wrinkled (the same observation appears in other Enid Blyton stories that I read as a child and I've never forgotten it) and 'Friendly Old Toad' with the aptly named Mr. Meanie and Mr. Smile and their different attitudes. Eileen Soper's illustrations of the rabbit and primroses in 'Umbrella Weather' are absolutely delightful.

These books are beautiful. What a pity it is nearly impossible to collect them.
