I'm glad you had a good time in the Lake District, Courtenay. It's one of my favourite places.
Enjoy Yorkshire, John! I've never been to Haworth but I intend to go there one of these days.

Re: What makes you happy?
Looking at the Secret Seven card game that Pete sent to Susan on the SS thread, reminded me of the lovely vintage cards that I often try to buy - either to send to those who I know will appreciate them (like my mum and eldest brother), or just to keep for myself as a lovely picture to enjoy.
Here's a couple of my favourites, the first one especially always reminds me of an Enid / Peteswood scene.

Re: What makes you happy?
These pictures would really do well as illustrations in Blyton books.

I like that style of cards, and have purchased them several times for people's birthdays.

I'm glad you both like them as well, Hannah and Katharine.
I've bought quite a few of the various village scene cards - some set in Christmas as well. And, yes, I've always thought they looked like they could be illustrations in Enid's books.

Lovely. I've seen jigsaw puzzles with similar illustrations in The Works.

I've just googled those jigsaws from The Works, Anita, and I see what you mean. They're very similar, and depict just as lovely scenes.

Re: What makes you happy?
I'm always happy to see Blyton books somewhere. Yesterday I passed an "open book cupboard/shelf" where everyone can put in books or take some away.
"Familie Langfeld Band II" is the second part of Six Cousins at Mistletoe Farm (the two books have been split into 4 books in the better of the German translations).
Tina und Tini is a series that mostly only exists in German (the first two books and partly the third are based on Blyton books). But I still like that series a lot.

My family makes me happy.
At the weekend we held a small party for my mother's 80th birthday party. It's not often we get the opportunity to all be together.

That second image is available as a jigsaw. I love these vintage pictures and I do a lot of jigsaws so I like seeking out ones with images like this.
