Very sorry for your loss, John.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I would like to thank everyone on here for your kind words on the recent sad loss of my dear wife Enid, after 53 years of marriage. In fact, it would have been 56 years ago this coming Friday that we actually met each other.

Having both our daughters with me during their mum's final hours was a great blessing and helped me tremendously.

Enid's funeral was held last Friday and started and ended with two of her favourite pieces of music.

As I try to resume a normal life, I would also like to thank Anita for her first post in this topic.

Two lovely pieces of music, John. I'm really sorry for your loss but being together for 56 years is very special.

Shortly after they announced Her Majesty's death on September 8th, a rainbow was seen over Windsor Castle and was reported in a number of TV and press releases. Here is just one of them:

At the time I saw it on the BBC news and it immediately reminded me of the following poem which, somewhat ironically, was the one we had chosen to be read at Enid's funeral just six days earlier. This is from Enid's Order of Service.

'Look for me in Rainbows' by Conn Bernard

Here is video we came across of the same poem being read:
