Opinions on this Enid Blyton signature please.
I realise that there can be no definitive answer but any opinions on the validity of this signature would be appreciated.
Some background.
I am 74 yrs old and so Enid Blyton was quite a factor in my childhood reading. Birthdays, Christmas, Sunday school prize giving etc and there was always a EB book. I read the Famous Five/Secret Seven over and over. A lasting effect is that I still enjoy reading and much prefer a good book to Netflix or Prime !
Now happily retired and I collect coins, always have done from a child growing up in a newsagents shop.
A few weeks back I bought some coins that I wanted at an auction and amongst them was a small autograph book. I didn't pay any attention to it at the time but last week I just thumbed through it out of curiosity. It belonged to a person called Richard who seems to have been involved with music/dance and musicals, more good amateur than professional I think but could be wrong. Some are dated from 1953 and have reference to stage activity. All appear to be performers. All very straightforward and ordinary.
Then, I turn a page and see " Love From Enid Blyton", couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. It is in with all the other autographs, just another entry.
So, what do you all think, could it be genuine / Does it look realistic/ as others follow it and are dated 1953 I assume it is from that year or thereabouts.
I have attached a couple of pictures so please feel free to comment.
Many thanks
Brian.

I think the very fact that you have found it by chance and you can provenance it to 1953 shows that it is genuine. After all no-one was trying to sell you this signature.
I’m no expert, having only a few images to refer to, but to me it looks a very typical specimen of Enid Blyton’s signature.

I'm not an expert either, but it looks plausible.
Enid Blyton's Noddy play was performed in 1954, and her Famous Five one in 1955, but of course she may well have been somewhere to sign autographs earlier than that.

A fantastic find Brian -
You can certainly trust Tony's judgement on this matter.
He has verified many genuine and also spotted fake signatures at my request over a number of years.

Thanks all, it seems like it "might" be a genuine thing.
I shall now have to decide what to do with it, keep it or sell it.
Time to ponder.
Cheers
Brian.

What a great find! It is like something that would happen in an Enid Blyton story and I am delighted to hear that the signature in the autograph album is probably genuine. Cheers, Boodi

Thanks all, it was a good lot purchase as besides the autograph surprise there was a gold coin in amongst the bits and bobs that no one had spotted. It was a good day for me, a 'happy chappie'.
Cheers
Brian.

That's actually incredible! You were so lucky to find this!
This reminded me of how my sister bought me a small autograph book and seeing this makes me realize how many surprises one can find inside! It's also a beautiful piece of the past to own of course
I would definitely recommend you keeping it! It would be such a pity if it fell into the wrong hands!
