I was very saddened to hear that Mike Nesmith lead singer of The Monkees has passed away aged 78. I loved The Monkees TV show since I first saw it and Nesmith was always one of my favourite members. Outside The Monkees he also had many hits. Here's a great track from 1972 (although he actually wrote it for someone else in the mid 1960s).

Yes, I was sad to see that. I think there's only Micky left now.

Mike Nesmith RIP.

The Monkees were my pin-up groups in the 60's. I just loved them and had all their record albums. Davy was my favourite, and as Katharine says, only Micky Dolenz is left now from the group.

Does anybody remember Micky Dolenz, then acting as Micky Braddock, in the early 1960s tv series, Circus Boy?

I particularly like this one by Mike - the version I know is on a CD the Monkees released when they reformed for a while about 20 years ago.

RIP Mike Nesmith. While I was not a great 'fan by any means, as a child I did watch their TV show almost every week. Sad to think that Micky Dolenz is now the only one left from the group.
