Right then Chrissie, once we've exhausted all of Bannus' kind hospitality it all hands round to yours and Andres for stollen and good cheer!! :D :D

As for Christmas, I'm hoping that one of my local Churches will have Christmas Lunch again. If not, then I'll be spending it alone.
Bannerman, I never heard of sugar-free marzipan, but would also be interested if it exists. My blood sugar level is too high and it's a struggle to lower it.
I've never seen it in shops but there are recipes on the internet that make marzipan with other sweeteners like for example erythritol. I've never tried it though.

My Christmas parcel from my parents has just arrived in the mail today — they sent it ultra-early because of all the delays with the post (my birthday present from them this year came really late, as did their presents from me). I will be really good, though, and not open it until Christmas...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

You will need iron resolve to leave it unopened for another six weeks.

We could ask either Tony or Anita to look after it for you. :)

Courtenay, aren't you afraid that edible contents might go bad in the meantime? I would open it.

Do I recognize Bing Crosby in the right half of the video clip?

As far as I know, the edible contents are chocolates and biscuits and so on, which should have long enough "use by" dates that they'll be fine. I don't think my parents would send me anything that was likely to go off in a short time, considering they were concerned the delivery time might take weeks longer than expected! But that's a good point and I will ask them if there's anything in there that might be perishable.

At this stage I only hope to be able to be allowed to travel to Ireland for Christmas. I don't think I could possibly cope to spend a Christmas away from my mother :( But seeing how things are developing, there's really just a fifty - fifty percent chance..
