Rock n' Roll legend Little Richard has passed away at the age of 87.

Before my time, but from what I've heard and seen, he was a fantastic musician and showman.

Very sad indeed. Little Richard was one of the true greats of rock ‘n’ roll. I’ve been a fan of his since first seeing him in Don’t Knock The Rock in 1957, where he sang Long Tall Sally and Tutti Fruitti. Although it was a Bill Haley film, Little Richard was the real star of the movie. What a fantastic performer. It was only during the past two days that Stephen, John (LS) and I were posting links to his songs on the “Last Song You Listened To” thread. RIP Little Richard and thank you for some truly wonderful records.

How sad to learn that Little Richard has passed away. It really is an incredibly bad year so far, Eddie! It seems to be one disaster after another. It really is crazy times we are living in at the moment! R.I.P. LR.

Very sad news.

Unfortunately it’s from that great musical era, 50’s to 70’s, that many of the artistes are now approaching their twilight years but we still remember them as the young people they were and don’t realise they are getting older - like us all.

We have lost one of the true original pioneers of Rock n Roll. He was a fantastic performer and musician who left us with some truly amazing music. he will not be forgotten. RIP Little Richard.
