RIP Millie Small

Post by Eddie Muir »

Very sad to hear that Millie Small died yesterday, aged 73.

Millie had a number 2 hit in 1964 with My Boy Lollipop :

'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Sad news Eddie - this is one of the very first songs I can remember as a child. R.I.P.

Sad news. A real shame. Only 73 as well. My Boy Lollipop is one of those songs that's stuck in my head since I was a kid. Instantly recognisable, catchy and I always end up singing along to it! R.I.P. Millie.

That is sad news, Eddie. Her song always reminds me of my first girlfriend who used to say I was "(her) boy lollipop" after that song came out. ;)

R.I.P. Millie.

Such an instantly infectious song.

73 isn't particularly old either.
