A sunny morning on Burhou, but no giant rabbits and no puffins...maybe later?

Looks to me as though someone needs to clean the lens.

Nigel, I just sent a message to the Alderney Wildlife Org and hope they will clean the lense.

Gosh the giant rabbits are getting bigger every year.
A short while ago, I watched three of them playing chasey, at a very high speed, round and round the island. Was quite funny to watch.

A couple of hours ago everything was very clear. I assumed it was the weather causing the blurry view we have now.

cheers

Oh I just saw my first puffin for this year, came out of one of the burrows right at the front of the screen. Wonderful

Sue, the giant rabbit is in the middle of the screen right now.

When I checked it this morning, it was sunny and dry, but very blurry. That's why I thought they need to clean their webcam lens.

The huge rabbit is active right now. I wonder how he was able to stay so well fed over the winter?

Nigel, I took care of it.
Here's their kind answer:

Morning Christine,

We do apologise about the state of the cameras - unfortunately we had a lot of wind which we think left some salt spray on the lenses. The main camera seems to have cleared up not and the close up one if clearer at the moment
It seems to have cleared up today - because of the sensitivity of the puffin colony we can't land again for a few weeks but will give them a clean when we can get over
It is lovely to hear from our viewers further afield and I hope you will continue to enjoy the cameras - and yes that is Fort Clonque in the distance!

All the best,
Claire

Thanks, Chrissie. Both cameras do seem clearer than yesterday. Can't see any puffins (or rabbits) about at the moment, though.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

You are right, Courtenay. :D
Maybe it rained over night and the salt spray got washed off the lens?
I usually can only watch the main webcam, the close up webcam hardly ever seems to work for me.
But this morning it works. 8)

It seems as if there's a cruise ship on the close up webcam at the Alderney coast.
