I've never yet managed to make up a tune for it (though I could if I tried), but I just had a look online to see if anyone's ever published a musical version. Unfortunately all I could find was a clip from a Disney movie where Pooh and Piglet sing it — not that the tune is disagreeable, but the rhythm is all wrong and one of the tiddely-poms is in the wrong place entirely. :x :( If they'd bothered to read the original story, they'd know how to sing it properly...

The more it
SNOWS-tiddely-pom
The more it
GOES-tiddely-pom
The more it
GOES-tiddely-pom
On
Snowing.

And nobody
KNOWS-tiddely-pom
How cold my
TOES-tiddely-pom
How cold my
TOES-tiddely-pom
Are
Growing.

(Which, as we're assured in The House at Pooh Corner, "is much the best way of singing it". )

It snowed quite heavily this afternoon here...

Yet again I can't properly upload a photo because I just get the error "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image." I tried two different sites (ImageShack and IMGbb). I would have used TinyPic but the photos all come up sideways there...
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Good photo, Fiona! Quite a lot of snow here on the Essex coast - trains delayed and some schools closed.

We now have so much snow that our food shopping has not been delivered! Luckily I have some soup in the freezer as there’s not much else in the cupboards...

It hasn't snowed yet, but it's freezing cold. The forcast for Friday is worrying me a bit though - temperatures will rise above freezing point, but there's also rain predicted. Going by bike could become a challenge. The longterm foracast states temperatures will rise within a week to 15°C, which I don't think is that bad at all.

The snow is even deeper here now, with more to come this afternoon. It's beautiful when it's fresh but I hate it when it turns to ice and slush and the roads and pavements are a hazard.

I hope the conditions on Friday won't make your journey difficult, Wolfgang.

We've had more snow overnight, too — some of yesterday's had melted but now it's all been snowed over again. There are icicles hanging from my bird feeders outside my window! They're not deterring the birds, though.

I always use tinypic, but thought I'd try Imgur. In spite of resizing to 320x240 (the size I use with tinypic), I got this message:

It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

I tried it without resizing and got this:

Your images may only be up to 620 pixels wide.

I'll stick with tinypic!

I'm sure Courtenay will be able to help you.
It's a great program and I really think she could easily talk you through all your size issues.

Er, no, I'm no expert with Imgur (though it's what I use) and I sometimes have problems with it too! Usually it works, but occasionally it decides it doesn't like something and won't co-operate. You just have to keep fiddling with it. It still gives me less trouble than any of the other picture hosting websites.

Lucky you!! I'm really hoping for snow tomorrow! :D
Although the good thing about this is I have no school for the next two days! Yay!

You lucky things. We don't have any concept of schools being closed due to snow in Australia, for obvious reasons — and much as we always argued we should be allowed to go home early if it reached 40°C in summer, no teacher was ever persuaded by that, for some reason... :P

Mind you, 'Snow Days' didn't exist in this country until maybe 15 years ago (maybe a little longer). As a kid, I never remember our school closing due to snow. Sometimes a teacher would be late if they lived a long way off, but then we would just go in with another class - usually a year older than us because there was only one class per year in my Primary School.

Sometimes the boiler that powered the heating would break down - but we just had to wear coats and gloves in the classroom!

One year I remember we made a massive slide in the playground - must have been at least 20 feet long, and we queued up to have a go! Half the school was queuing! After a couple of play-times, a teacher appeared at the end of Break with a big sack of salt, so we all sat down on the slide singing 'We shall not be moved!'
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

(E. Blyton, Sunday Times, 1951)
