I'm just a responsible dog owner. You don't have to sit outside my friend!

There's only two reasons for you wanting to sit near me, Nigel. One is so you can steal my chips, and the second is to wind me up!

I was sorry that the Enid Blyton Day can't be run this year, but was relieved to hear of the Gathering at Old Thatch. I intended to bring my 1954 Riley, originally registered to Darrell Waters Ltd, kept at Beaconsfield and presumably used as one of her several cars, from 1955 to 1960. I previously showed it at in 2003 at Loddon and some may remember it. I shall certainly try to make sure the old girl is on the road for that weekend. I live in Orpington, Kent, and am happy to show the car to anyone who is interested (email: mikethatcher13@hotmail.com). Mike Thatcher.

Nice to hear from you Mike. I hope you'll be able to come to the 'Gathering', and allow us to look over your car. We're all meeting at the Spad Oak at 12.30 for lunch first, and I expect a lot of us will be leaving our cars in their car park. Hopefully anyway!.

Mike - I also will be interested to look at your car at the Old Thatch day. Will you be able to offer us rides up and down Coldmoorholme Lane - we could transport ourselves back to 1955 and imagine being back in Blyton times! No doubt Mrs Trotteville, Mrs Hilton and Mrs Daykin drove up and down the lane in the Mystery series in such an illustrious vehicle during those days.

Sally, Yes, the car is certainly available for rides, though Enid was at Green Hedges when she owned it of course, so Beaconsfield High St would be more appropriate.
