Francis, did you have a chance to check out Europe's most beautiful beach, Wonwell Beach in Devon located south of Bigbury-on-Sea and Burgh Island (Agatha Christie)?
Photos can't do it any justice, but to us it's a most beautiful, peaceful spot, full of interesting wildlife, lovely walks, beaches, it has everything.

I am afraid we missed that one, Chrissie although we did visit Seaton and Lyme Regis (just over the border in Dorset). Both of them were lovely - Lyme had a lovely old bookshop.

I sure miss old independent bookshops over here (there is only Barnes & Noble and Walden Books since Borders went bancrupt), but I will try to visit as many as possible on our Germany trip in 10 days.
