Thanks Lucky Star! She is called "Rondalla", but everybody thinks that is a bit of a mouthful, so we may shorten her name to "Romy". There is an old saying (or tradition) that it is unlucky to change a horse's name, so being a bit superstitious I am slightly hesitant to re-christen her.

I've just bought my daughter a push chair/pram combined, for the new expected baby at Christmas. I ordered it from Mothercare and it came today in a big box. On the side of the box after displaying the contents, it says:-

WARNING: This product is not suitable for running or skating.

What on earth has that got to do with a push chair.

I can just see myself trying to push the pram along whilst on a pair of skates.

You'd be surprised - when I was in France over the summer, I noticed quite a few people pushing a pram or pushchair while on a pair of skates. They were quite good at it, too. Maybe the pram was a continental one, and they put the sign on for the French? I've never noticed it in Britain, and I was surprised to see it happen over there!

As it hasn't said it is not suitable to be pushed along a railway line, I suppose you can at least do that. What about pushing it over a cliff?

I was thinking of The Mountain of Adventure when it was broadcast live on National Geographic channel. Pretty advanced an idea for the 1940s eh.

I haven't noticed any missing. Do you mean from today, or earlier? Sometimes people post messages only to delete them shortly after, so perhaps someone did that?

The story is in a lot of newspapers today. It also reminded me of The Mountain of Adventure. That book is often critiscised for being unrealistic in its idea of wings for people, perhaps it needs a reappraisal now. I wonder what Blyton would think if she could see that her plot idea had become reality some 60 years later.

Anita I made a post on here referring to the fact that racehorses have second "professional" names and Moonraker, for one, answered it. A search of my posts in my profile shows that post as having been made on the 22nd of September yet there is a gap in this thread from the 21st to the 24th of September and the two posts are certainly not here. Its no big deal, I just wondered if they had been deleted for a reason or if there is a glitch in the system somewhere.

I think Lucky Star is right, I have certainly replied to two racehorse/horse name topics in two threads, one of which I am sure was in the General Natter Room. I can only find the one now in the Pets thread.
