Happy Birthday Fiona.
We seem to have a few members all having a birthday around these last couple of weeks!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

All the best people are born this time of year, Pete
Thanks all. No Blyton gifts to report this time (though I got two cards with the artwork from the Famous Five for Grown-Ups books) but I'm hopeful for Christmas (partly because I bought a few things on eBay and got Ewan to put them aside...)
We went to Murton Farm today, had lunch and then explored outside in temperatures of -2. The pond was frozen , so were the sandpits, the wooden bowling lane was icy and the trampolines were equal parts slidey and bouncy, but we had fun anyway!

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
