This song was released this year and honestly, I could go as far as saying it's one of the best songs I have ever listened to! I simply love it! Totally recommend listening to it :D

I remember that being in the charts. Sad but lovely.

I've just been listening to some tracks by The Beatles, including one I'd almost forgotten about - 'Devil in Her Heart':

A great track from the Beatles second album, With the Beatles, released on 22nd November 1963.

Here is the original recording (Devil in His Heart) by the American girl group, the Donays, Anita. It was recorded in 1961, but not released as a single until August 1962.

Interesting. It was the flip side to their recording of 'Bad Boy' (which is not the same number as the Larry Williams' song). It seems to be the only record the Donays ever released, and it was just chance that George Harrison happened to come across it.

That's interesting, Eddie and Dave. I hadn't even realised the version by The Beatles was a cover!

Just listened to 'Things We Said Today'. Touching lyrics and a lovely melody:

Another great Beatles track, Anita. They wrote and recorded so many wonderful songs. Things We Said Today is from the album and film A Hard Day’s Night, as I’m sure you know. :D

Bunny Berigan - That Foolish Feeling

https://www.dropshots.com/Domino43/date ... 1/21:55:32" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Roland Bernard Berigan was born in Hilbert, Wisconsin in 1908. He played trumpet in a variety of local bands from the age of 14, but in 1930 joined Hal Kemp's orchestra, who went on a tour of England. On their return to the U.S., Bunny freelanced on radio and records. He played with Paul Whiteman from 1932 to 1934.
He recorded with Glenn Miller's 1935 orchestra. His was the trumpet solo on 'Solo Hop', Glenn's first hit (US No: 7). He then joined Benny Goodman's orchestra and achieved national fame with his solos on numbers like 'King Porter Stomp'. In 1936, he became star trumpeter with Tommy Dorsey's orchestra.
In 1937, he assembled his own band. It started well, but he fell prey to alcoholism and was not financially successful, despite being a brilliant trumpet player, and he was declared bankrupt in 1939. He organised a new band in 1940, which had some moderate success, but he became ill with pneumonia and cirrhosis and died in 1942 at age 33.

Yes, good one, Pete — I've always loved the Everly Brothers' sound even though they're a bit before my time! (My dad was a fan; funnily enough, his name is Don and he has a brother called Phil too, but they didn't make music. :wink: ) Along with that one, I also love Crying in the Rain and Cathy's Clown.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I love the Everly Brothers' sound too. One of my favourites is All I Have to Do is Dream:

The Everly Brothers at their best, Anita. All I Have to Do is Dream held the number one spot in the UK charts in 1958 for nine weeks. It was actually a double-sided number one. The flip side was Claudette, another great track, written by Roy Orbison:

Thanks, Eddie. I hadn't heard Claudette before. Pity it wasn't Claudine!
