A tantalising glimpse of what a reinstated Colin Baker as Dr Who could look like....

Why is it that whenever I read "Whovian" I think about my vacuum cleaner?

Not just me then!
It seems to me that the "sonic screwdriver" (probably a brilliant Christmas toy marketing device) solved too many problems. Then they had a , frankly repulsive, introduction to a new 'Doctor' and that (for me) was the end...

'The Doctor's groovy new gadget was surely a shoo-in to be top of every Christmas list come December, especially after a memorably dramatic debut in which the Doctor uses it to vanquish a fearsome enemy in a titanic struggle to the death. Just kidding – he uses it to open the valve on a gas outlet pipe. Still though – sonic, eh?' - Space Helmet for a Cow.

I know Courtenay will be so pleased as it solves the conundrum of the Colin Baker comeback dilemma.

I have met sixth Doctor Actor Colin Baker no less than 20 times in 18 years; indeed it is very easy to talk to him without being nervous. Colin is a warm, generous and intelligent man, who as well as being a true gent, is greatly accomplished with wit. He always remembers me, takes time to converse with me and we conclude by shaking hands.

Don't worry, Pete, I'm not a genuine Whovian — I only watch the show occasionally and take an interest in it on and off. I personally couldn't care less whether Colin Baker regenerated or not.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Which just goes to show that it's not just the Daleks that get "Out of control! Out of control! OUT OF CONTROL!"
