RIP Georgina Hargreaves

Post by Fiona1986 »

I was very sorry to see that Georgina Hargreaves passed away on Sunday, with her family by her side.

Georgina was known in the Blyton community for her beautiful artwork for the Faraway Tree books, and many of us will remember the interesting and amusing talk she gave at the last Society day.

She started the ever-popular Enid Blytons Books Facebook Group and until a year or two ago was quite active, always friendly and happy to chat about her artwork or any other topics.

She will be sadly missed by many of us.

"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

She was a lovely lady.

She gave a demonstration at a Enid Blyton Birthday Party at Corfe Castle one year.

Sad news about Georgina Hargreaves. I had a chat with her at the 2012 Enid Blyton Day and she was very friendly. Her talk was wonderfully entertaining and I could have listened to her for hours!

I have the Faraway Tree and Wishing-Chair books that Georgina illustrated, and they're lovely.

She'll be missed.

Sad news indeed. I heard her talk at the Enid Blyton day and could have listened to her all day.
If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy
