I got a bit of criticism last year for not adding regularly to the Updates page (which has a link on all pages of this website). My reason for this was that I had not been sent any new reviews and also that I didn't think many people looked at it! My point has been proved as I have updated it four times in January, all with new reviews and the last three times have not had a single comment! Links are on the Updates page.

Great reviews by Terry of some lovely little books (or 'Little Books'!) What a variety of stories Enid Blyton wrote to entrance and expand young minds, and the icing on the cake is having illustrations by artists like Eileen Soper and Molly Brett.

Hear! Hear! I totally agree with all you say, Anita: great reviews for lovely books with superb illustrations. Thank you for adding them, Tony. :D

I may not always comment on the updates (I sometimes think my posts get a bit repetitive) but I never fail to read and enjoy Terry's reviews on the Little Books. I hope he's doing the whole series. Thank you Terry and Tony.

I love the illustrations on some of these books, and the illustration for What A Surprice doesn't fail. It's a lovely one. :)

Oh, noted, Tony! You are doing much better this year. I almost posted to say as much, but thought you might think I was being sarcastic! I am surprised no-one has commented though, and can see why you could get miffed. You are really a victim of your own success. We expect excellence from you, and possibly that negates the need to comment. Many people only comment when they have a complaint.

Maybe, people are so busy discussing tea, the last song they've listened to, Doctor Who and the 'English' Empire, that they don't notice the updates. However, I have posted every update of yours on Facebook or Twitter for fans of the Society and Enid.

I must admit that I sometimes forget the Updates because I am viewing the forums in mobile version and the mobile version doesn't have the Updates link at the top like the desktop version does, so if I'm just visiting the forums and not the main website then the updates do slip my mind because there's nothing to remind me, but when I visit the main website I do look to see what's added.

Good point, Cathy. I hadn't realised the "Updates" link didn't show on the forums page on mobile devices.

Surely not?"

I have to echo what everyone is saying though Tony - the updates are much appreciated, and although sometimes I might miss them, I do make a point of checking the 'update' button whenever I see the date has changed. 8) I think it's true that people often only comment when they feel the need to complain - that's human nature - and of course, we never have need to complain about updates, so no one comments!

They are always very much appreciated by us all though, I'm sure.

It wasn't me that I was thinking of when I posted above, but Terry who is now just short of 150 reviews on the website. He is very well trained and adds all the codes himself, so my contribution is minimal as his reviews only take me a minute to load, and another minute to put it on the updates page. So any comments I was hoping for would be on his behalf and not mine.

It's always good to read everyone's reviews in The Cave. I particularly enjoy Julies and Anita's personally.

I know I have to write some myself...but at the moment I have several projects on the go at once! ;-)

I don't know which mobile device Cathy is using, but I have the "Updates" link on my iPad, Anita.

An iPad is a sophisticated bit of kit, Eddie. Cathy may well use an app (TapTalk) on her phone, as I do if I look at forum posts on my phone. It gives a very different 'view' - showing posts clearly, but losing much of the 'other stuff' found on the proper webpage.

I think it has to do with whether you use the 'mobile version' or the 'full version'. On my tablet, it gives me the choice of using mobile version, which is just a white background and a list of topics basically, or the 'full' version which has the proper headers etc as on my computer. I always use the 'full' version - I hate mobile versions that only have half the features!
