The Enid Blyton Dossier - a snip at only £182.70

Post by Rob Houghton »

I love The Dossier - but I'm not sure I would pay £182.70 for a copy - sorry Tony! ;-)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I saw two copies in a local bookshop last week. I think they were £10 and £12. Maybe I should rush back, snap them up quick and list them on E-Bay at the 'bargain' price of £50 each?

Considering it has above the very expensive copy this: "People who viewed this item also viewed..." with 2 copies for £2.80 and £2.79, I wonder at the optimism of the seller.

I see the seller is World of Books, which I've bought from before — normally they just sell all sorts of second hand books at affordable prices and put the genuinely valuable ones in their other store, World of Rare Books, where they also generally go for very reasonable prices. I don't know what's got into their heads with this one...

I bought a near mint copy for my grandson recently for £1 in a local charity shop. :D

This is a rare occasion that I am going to disagree with Rob.

If I needed a copier of the Dossier and it was the only one available I still think it is worth every penny. How much does the Anecdotage in book form cost.....

Hey, either someone's been reading this thread or they twigged independently... I just clicked on Rob's link in the first post and the same copy is now £19.45. Which is still quite pricey compared to some, but at least it's a bit more reasonable than before!!

That's interesting! Although its still fairly expensive, £19.45 is a much more realistic price. Maybe the original price was a slip of the keyboard!

I bought my copy new from Waterstones in 2000 - I think it was £15.00 - but its falling to pieces, so I could do with a better copy!
