And what a treasure trove they are. I think the seller threw in several more than were shown in the pictures on eBay, as he did tell me if he found any more, he would add them for free.It's going to take me a fair while to sort through them properly and decide exactly which ones I'll be keeping. Some of them I'll have to read for myself to decide whether I want them for my own - I'm not a collector and am not interested in hoarding every Blyton book I can get my hands on just for the sake of it. I love Enid's work in general, but I do have a life and other interests outside of it!
Many of the books are Dean editions from the '60s and '70s, and a few are later than that (I must say, in a few cases, they were putting horrid ugly covers on them as early as the '80s - let alone the ghastly covers that some of the newest editions have now
). Some, though, are older. The exciting thing is that quite a number of them are first editions - not all with dust wrappers (though a few do have), but all in decent condition! 
I'll share more when I've got a better grasp on what I have here and which ones I'm definitely going to keep. I'd very much appreciate it if any of you more experienced hands can offer advice on how to go about selling the rest on. Of course I would be happy to offer some for sale here first of all, if anyone's interested!
I do have a second hand book dealer in the village near me who stocks older Blytons, so I may offer him some of them - or there's Sue at Green Meadow Books in Penzance, who of course specialises in Blyton. I'm just in the process of planning a trip to Cornwall in October and am hoping to visit her, but as I won't be taking my car, there's the question of how many hardcover books I could reasonably fit into my suitcase!
Does anyone know of any other Blyton/classic children's literature specialists within easier distance of western Kent? I know I could take the eBay option too, but I've never sold anything on there before and wouldn't be too sure of getting a reasonable price. I'd feel happier knowing that at least the more valuable ones - and I think I have a few here - are going to either specialist dealers or serious collectors.
Any thoughts, guys/girls?
