Enid Blyton OLD THATCHER SERIES!

Post by pete9012S »

I wonder if the incorrect description will lead to it selling for a lower price!

I bought it for £1.99. I'm sure Tony is now going to tell me that's way over the odds for a 1950's reprint!!

Well done, Pete, £1.99 is nothing. A loaf of bread and a bottle of milk costs more than that!

Yes, the price is a bit wrong, Pete, it should have been about £6! I had a look at it myself this morning and wondered if the colouring was sufficiently different from one of the reprints in the Cave - I may ask you for a scan when you get it!

You can't go wrong with those, they are all exactly the same as the 1st edition inside. A good buy. :D

That's a fabulous little book, Pete. I think my favourite story is 'Mr. Tweeky's Magic Pockets'. Look out for the picture on page 26 of two foppish-looking men smoking on the bus, with a caption saying "They lighted their cigarettes and smoked gaily"! 'The Talking Teapot' is another great story. Oh, and we've mentioned 'The Chocolate Cock' before! Enjoy! :D

Thanks Julie,Tony & Anita. Yes,I thought £1.99 was a good price and didn't expect to win the auction for that little.
I will certainly scan it for you Tony when it arrives, and I will also look forward to reading the stories you've highlighted Anita.
(I might just save it till I get to Old Thatch in May and read it were it was actually conceived! :D )

Was anyone following the Famous Five badge that sold today too? It went for a good price.(if you were the seller that is!!)

That is a much more difficult book to find and that is about the going rate for it.
